• Question: How do you feel when you've discovered something scientifically new, and knowing that you could possible be the first person to discover this?

      It feels incredible! Depending on how much hype there has been and how many people have been working on it. Currently a lot of people are working on something called “intermediate band solar cells”, the idea is basically so that it can absorb more light and at different wavelengths and still maintain a high open-circuit voltage. This is still being tested, but the first group to be able to do this effectively will have achieved something monumental!
      I have experienced this on a smaller scale, but I hope and aim to be part of achieving something that could be truly ground-breaking! I can’t imagine the elation I would feel then…
