  A helium dilution refridgerator is a device that uses some nifty quantum mechanical properties of helium to make really really cold temperatures. Far colder than the universe! Empty space is about 2.7 degrees (Kelvin) above absolute zero. We use our fridge to run experiments at 0.005 Kelvin!
